Prime Minister Tarique Rahman commented that there is no need to travel to Florida, USA, to learn mosquito eradication; simply standing by a ditch will suffice.

The Prime Minister made this remark while giving his opinion on the approval of a proposal concerning a visit by Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain and five officials to the United States, aimed at observing innovative mosquito eradication activities. He directly rejected the proposal.

The Prime Minister stated that there is no need to go to Florida, USA, to learn or observe mosquito eradication. Many innovative methods for mosquito control could be discovered by simply standing next to any ditch for two to three hours after dusk, right here in the country.

It is learned that the proposal for the Florida trip to the United States was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office in summary form by the Local Government Division. The trip was intended to be funded by the foreign firm Valent BioSciences LLC.

Many view the Prime Minister’s comments as a significant message regarding the country’s ongoing mosquito problem and the necessity of foreign trips by government officials.
